Education about healthy food choices and nutritional management through supplements are important components of nutritional counseling with Birk Grove’s licensed dietitian. The goal of nutritional counseling at Birk Grove is “optimal nutrition.”
Food sensitivities and intolerances (such as glutens, dairy, yeasts, sugars, caffeine) may aggravate the symptoms of fibromyalgia in some patients, therefore food allergies and intolerances are tested through our Restoration Diet Plan. Our dietitian will also educate our patients on healthy food choices. Customized menu plans are developed with individual taste preferences which give patients the necessary resources and tools to complete their grocery shopping with ease, as well as create meals their whole family can enjoy.
The role of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids is crucial in reducing many of the troubling symptoms patients with fibromyalgia face each day. Deficiencies may lead to muscle pain, soreness, headaches, fatigue, and irritable bowel syndrome. Nutritional supplements are recommended to help fortify a diet found to be low in certain nutrients.
